Aim: Simple counselling or techniques for happy and stress-free living including education, career, family, relationships and other areas.

Counselling seeks to utilize in a timely manner vast possibility for education, career, family, relationships and other areas. It also covers adverse times to be careful. It is based on cosmic activities. We are part and parcel of vast cosmos and its bodies. With purity of mind and soul when detached from material world, one attains subtle / micro cosmic state of mind and soul which connects to vast/ macro cosmos. The pure mind and soul is able to feel vast cosmos surrounding everyone and observe problems / diseases and their solutions now or at any given time.

Now thanks to my Guru Sh. K. N. Rao, the greatest Astrologer of this century who is blessed with subtle Divine Astrological vision and piousness of mind and soul that we are able to become free from fears created by some traditional astrologers having vested interests. Astrology is a reasoning-based science that explores the vast possibilities before anyone and to remain cautious for likely difficulties.

Some BASICS of ASTROLOGY of SELF-HEALING

Life and Stars: All life on Earth derives from the stars, primarily through the light of the Sun. Biological life arises from the sunlight digested by plants through the process of photosynthesis, which creates the food that sustains all creatures. However, the lights of the planets also consist of reflected sunlight.
Life and mind both are transformation of light, whose function is to illumine and perceive through an internal light. The light is ultimately One and Universal. It is not simply a physical force but a power of consciousness, which is the highest and most subtle form of light. Light of the stars and their electro-magnetic fields also influences life in our solar system. The web of life is a web of light interconnected to the stars and planets. We are all plants, planets or light production mechanisms and we always remain inter-connected and under constant observation like human-made CCTV’s through stars, planets and other divine forces.
Astrology is a Science: The connection between physics, biology and spirituality is the basis of Astrology. This is not an overextension of the imagination but a natural progression that parallels the unfoldment of the universe.
Every area of Astrology is part of a vast divine science dealing with daily routine practical life we live. This is the science of motion of planets, astronomy, soul, karma of this and past lives, energy, matter, ethics and theology and so on. Astrology is concerned with our all three bodies – the physical, the astral and the causal. It deals with all main factor of life such as our physique, mind, family, career, relationship, spirituality which are shown by various houses in the natal chart or blue print of the astral body (subtle body), clear from the name astrology, that also guides about our physical body.
Astrology and its charts are all about looking at possibilities in one’s destiny which are all based on karma – past, present and future in the making. No karma means closing all those possibilities for progress, prosperity and happiness. Thus, there is nothing auspicious for a person not doing karma.
Stars and Planets govern our life on Earth: The entire universe forms a greater organism or universal being which encompasses all the worlds. This is the Purusha or Cosmic Person son of Vedic thought, who is said to be made of light and to dwell in the Sun and the stars.
In addition to all the individual living creatures, there are greater cosmic beings and powers ruling over the different layers of existence from sub-atomic to supra-galactic realms, and all of these beings are integral aspects of the Purusha, the higher Universal Being. The planets of our solar system are the main cosmic beings or powers that govern our life and expression on Earth.
Astrology is an art of interacting with these higher cosmic powers and bringing their beneficial forces into our more limited or closer world.
One of the key laws for understanding this greater ‘conscious universe’ concept is that what happens on one level of existence is reflected on all other levels. Several important dictums arise from this like as above so below, as without so within. The Cosmic Being upholds within itself various interdependent dimensions or planes of existence; material, biological and spiritual.
Vedas & Upanishads: Vid means vidya or knowledge. Vedas are large texts of knowledge considered to be impersonal and authorless. These are called as Shriti or what is heard as distinguished from other religious texts. These are considered revelations seen by ancient Sages or Saints as created by Brahma. The four Vedas are Rigveda, Yajurveda, Samaveda and Atharvaveda. The Upanishads are a part of Vedas some of which are shared by Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism. The Upanishads played an important role in the development of spiritual ideas and in transition from Vedic rituals to education and institutions.
Vedangas: These are Angasa or parts of Vedas. The six Vedangas are: Shiksha (rules of pronunciation), Kalpa (rituals), Vyakarna, Nirukta (Etymology or exposition – study of the origin of words and the way in which their meanings have changed throughout history), Chhanda (mantras), Jyotisha.
Ayurvedic Astrology (Medical Astrology):Ayur-Veda “Knowledge of Life” is also called “the mother of all healing” because it embraces all forms of healing including diet, herbs, bodywork, surgery, psychology and Yoga. It accepts anything internally or externally that promotes health, well-being and happiness. Ayurveda explores the qualities and effects not only of foods, medicines and behaviour but also of climates, the weather and the stars (Astrology). These treatments range from simple dietary measures to complex herbs and special purification procedures. Ayurveda aims not only at the cure and prevention of disease but also at rejuvenation and longevity. Beyond ordinary measures for the care of health, it has special methods to allow us to achieve a higher level of vitality and awareness – a spiritual Ayurveda that is part of the practice of Yoga.Astrology and Ayurveda have a significant overlap as well. Vedic Astrology contains a medical system based upon Ayurveda. Ayurveda contains a system for the timing of disease and its treatment based upon Vedic Astrology. Ayurvedic Astrology is the medical branch of Vedic Astrology, adding to it the Ayurvedic view of health and healing.Ayurvedic Astrology uses Vedic Astrology as an aid to Ayurvedic analysis, diagnosis and treatment showing how planetary factors cause disease and how balancing planetary factors can be an important aid in any cure.
Ayurvedic Astrology combines these two great disciplines, using Astrology to plot the influences of time and karma and Ayurveda to show how these relate to our state of Prana or vital energy. Combining these two great disciplines together, there is nothing that we cannot treat or cannot understand.Ayurvedic Astrology is concerned with healing body, mind and spirit using the tools of the entire universe, verse, the foremost of which is the light of the stars and planets. It expands the field of Ayurveda to its broadest possible range.
Yogic Astrology:Astrology and Ayurvedic medicine are part of the greater system of Yoga, a system which aims at Self-realization, our union with the Divine Being within us as the ultimate goal of life. For this reason, we can call it as `Yogic Astrology’. Ayurveda is concerned with our connection to the Divine Self as the source of all life within us, and Jyotish (Astrology) with our union with the Divine Self as the source of all light and therefore all activity and manifestation in the external world. The three systems – Yoga, Ayurveda and Vedic Astrology – interrelate to provide us with an effective and comprehensive methodology to deal with our karma in life, which is manifold on many levels, without and within.Adding a spiritual or yogic side to medical and psychological astrology, we can create a complete system of well-being for body, mind and spirit. This can help us answer the ultimate questions like ‘What is the meaning of life?’ or‘Who am I?’. Answering such questionsis the real purpose of why we are born.As human beings, we are not mere lumps of flesh, but a composite of three bodies orencasements for the soul – the physical, the astral and the causal. Physical body is the sphere of the gross elements of earth, water, fire, air and ether, the visible body born of our parents and sustained by the food that we eat.
Within the gross organism resides a more refined vesture that works behind our physical functioning – the astral or subtle body made up of the vital force, the senses, and the outer aspect of the mind. It is composed of the subtle elements or sensory potentials of sound (ether), touch (air), sight (fire), taste (water) and smell (earth). Normally we experience the astral body indirectly through the physical body by means of the mind and emotions. But in dreams, visions and inspiration or after death we can experience it directly. The causal body is the deeper mind or sphere of the soul that holds the inmost desires, impulses and tendencies (samskaras) that propel us along the cycle of rebirth. It is comprised of the gunas (qualities of nature) of sattva (harmony), rajas (agitation) or tamas (inertia). On a higher level, the causal body is the abode of our life wisdom, heart feelings and soul urges that continue with us from birth to birth. Normally we are not directly aware of the causal body except when we are in contact with our deepest aspirations. We touch in with it in the state of deep sleep and only enter into it directly when we enter into a state of super consciousness beyond the ordinary mind and ego. Awakening it is one of the main purposes of Yoga. The causal body is the vehicle of the soul or reincarnating entity and persists throughout all our incarnations, with the astral body arising out of it.In general, we could say that the physical body relates more to Kapha, the biological water humor of Ayurveda, because it is composed mainly of this element. The astral body relates more to Pitta, the biological fire humor, owing to its connection with our perceptual faculties. The causal body relates more to Vata, the biological air humor, owing to its power to energize the other two bodies with life and consciousness. The causal body holds the underlying will and motivation in our hearts. By changing our deepest thoughts and intentions we can alter both our physical body and its vital energies. This is the basis of spiritual healing in Ayurveda, which targets the causal body.
Patanjali Yoga & Astrology: House 1 to 8 represent each Anga of Astanga Yoga of Maharashi Patanjali. This stage of houses 1 to 6 are invisible from the world whereas remaining 6 houses from 7 to 12 are visible to world.
Planets, Houses and Signs: Planetsare Actors or what energy involved and are moving. Planetor Grahameans Grahan or to acquire or Influence; Housesmeans place where drama takes place or represents an area of your life; and Signsare the Stage setting or how energy will express itself and in which action occurs.
Horoscopeor Chart: Horoscope is a diagram or map of man’s destiny and Zodiac is the journey of Soul (Sun) from its inception through childhood to old age.Basic Chart (D-1) is only a promise that will unfold as the years of his life unfold. The promises fructify during the particular dasa, that need to be strengthened by the Navamsa charts and other divisional charts. AlsoYogakarka planets placements, aspects and nakshatras play a major role.
Zodiac: Zodiac is the journey of Soul (Sun) from its inception through childhood to old age. It is the map of heavens at the movement of your birth, known as your natal or birth chart. It is a reflection of your unique personality. Once you know to combine different factors in a birth chart, you can look behind the face someone presents to the world & discover who that person really is.
To the ancients, the planets were living breathing beings who ruled precise areas of life that were described by the signs of Zodiac. The planets are the main cosmic beings or forces which govern our life and expression on earth. Food on which all creatures survive is the outcome of photosynthesis of plants and sun light is its source. Entire Solar system is a single organism and its impact on earth is combined one of all planets, which are near and far besides illuminating and non-illuminating. We all are light production mechanism whether plants or planets.

Zodiac Signs: Zodiac Signsrepresent the whole of human experience, each sign describing a distinct basic personally type linked to the position of the Sun at birth. Generally Odd signs are Male and Even signs are Female. By observing & correlating planetary activity & earthbound events at that movement, an astrologer can foresee events, recognise the possibility of change and identify opportunities or blockages in your path for harnessing changes in your favour. Astrologers combine their astrological understanding with their therapist like skills which are helpful in reaching full potential & regaining control for a better living. They advise appropriate astral remedies including meditation, yoga, spiritual practices, color therapy, gems-stone therapy and participation in worship etc.
One remains linked from one birth to another by karma or actions. Each sign and planet had its own physiologicalcorrespondence and associated herbs which could be used for healing. Ayurveda Astrology ascertains when illness first struck &underlying cause for that moment, often revealing stress & strain, deplete energies, subtle imbalances & deficiencies. Each sign & planet also had its own metal, gems, colour & animals. On the basis of nature & appearances of Planets, individuals are influenced & accordingly remedies prescribed including herbs, gems, stones, rituals, mantras, meditation etc. for propitiating the deities or cosmic forces working through the planets.

Karma and Muhurta: Muhurta is one area of astrology dealing in finding an auspicious time for successful performance of a particular activity or a specific aspect of life. A man can create his own destiny after he knows the limitations and not beyond it. Not seeing the stars before launching any new venture means miseries. Time of commencement or birth and good-bad times in life are not in our control. However, it is in our hand to find out the promises as disclosed by the stars and then perform right karma avail the fruits of this karma. Similar is the situation of any event or venture for which we expect favourable results. Muhurta is a short-time created destiny or mini-chart for that particular period of time under overall destiny or basic (natal) horoscope of the native. In muhurta a specific activity or karma is advised for best results at that short period of time whereas entire life is covered under basic chart for performing karma in line with vast possibilities and potential in destiny of the native. It is all based on Karma or Actions of the native that brings the fruits of life as promises reflected in the natal chart. The Muhurta or short-term destiny for the event or venture should be in harmony with the main or long-term destiny or Nature. Life is energy and we can succeed in life by saving energy by adapting ourselves in accordance natural forces. It is better to commence when cosmic power or nature is favourable. Muhurta provides those favourable moments.
Panchanga: Tithi, Karna, Vaar, Nakshatra, Yoga:

Tithi: The tithi is the time taken by the Moon in increasing its distance from the Sun by 12 degrees. The complete revolution of the Moon (29.5 days) occupies 30 tithis for 360 degrees. Since the motions of the Sun and Moon are always varying in speed the length of a tithi constantly alters. The moment of new Moon, or that point of time when the longitudes of Sun and Moon are equal is called ‘amavasya’.

Calculations: Longitudes of (Moon – Sun) / 12 say 7*45’, means 7 Tithis have passed and 8th is running.

Karana: The karana is half the tithi or during which the difference of the longitudes of Sun and Moon is increased by 6°.
Calculation: Longitudes of (Sun – Moon) / 6.
Vaar: Is one of the seven days of a week which is calculated for various purposes like fixing of Muhurta and Hora etc. One tropical or sidereal year has 365.25 solar days approx.

Yoga: The period of time during which the distance between the Sun and Moon is
increased by 13° 20′. This is about 1 day.
Calculations= Longitudes of (Sun +Moon) / 13*20’
Nakshatra: Nakshatrasare 27 in number are group of constellations or stars which are further divided into 4 parts or pada each.

Calculation of Birth Nakshatra = Longitude of Moon planet/ 13*20’
The time, which the Moon requires to travel over the 27th part of the ecliptic, is called ‘nakshatra’. During the traversal of Moon around the Earth it was noticed that the Moon is close to some of the fixed heavenly bodies (stars). Twenty-seven stars that fall on the path of the Moon identified. In 29.5 days, that is, Moon’s one synodic revolution, Moon travels through 27 stars that were said to form the 27 Nakshatras. Hence, on an average Moon travels one nakshatra everyday. The star, which is closest to the Moon on its path, is called Moon’s Nakshatra.
Sidereal Period: Is the true time of complete revolution of a planet around the Sun with reference to distant star. In case of Moon, it is the time taken to complete one revolution around the earth.

Sidereal Day: Is a complete rotation of the Earth on its axis with reference to a fixed star ‘Spica in the Chitra nakshatra’. Its duration is 23h 56m 4.091 s in mean solar day. It is shorter by 4 minutes than Apparent Solar Day due to Earth’s orbital motion.
Sidereal Month: Time taken for one rotation of the Moon around Earth with reference to a fixed star. Its duration is 27 days 7h 43m 11.6s.
Sidereal Year: Period taken by Earth to make a revolution once in its orbit, duration 365.256 days or 365d 6h 9m 9.8s.

Astronomical or TropicalYear: Period taken by Sun from one vernal equinox to the next vernal equinox to make, duration 365.242 d or 365d 5h 48m 45.2s.
In Solar Year, sun rotates full cycle around Zodiac. Lunar year is shorter by 11 days.

Apparent Solar Day: From one sunrise to next sunrise, or from one midnight to another or 00.00 hrs. to 24.00 hrs.
Mean Solar Day: Average of all the days in a year, has duration 24 hours.

Lunar Year: Moon traverses whole Zodiac every month & generally takes 27 days, 12 such rotations constitute Samvata or Lunar Year.

Lunar Day: When Moon gains 12* over that of Sun’s longitude, a Tithi or Lunar Day is completed, having duration 23h 37m 28.096s. A Lunar month has 29 days 12 hours and 44 minutes. Shukla & Krishna Pakshas have each 15 tithis.

योगःकर्मसुकौशलम् - yogaḥkarmasukausalam

The Bhagwad Gita, II, 47.

Lord Krishna emphasized on Action or Karma by human beings. By careful and focussed doing of our work we achieve Excellence which itself is Yoga. Lord Krishna suggests that do your activities in such a focussed and perfect way that nothing should remain to add to it. In practical life, if one buys something but pays less or more than its cost, then Karma is incomplete and seller or buyer have to remind each other for completing the Karma. Furthering it, doing one’s duty with best of skill and care completes the action. Stay intensely on the action only and never on its fruits. The fruits of the action must not be its motive to work. But it never means inaction or laziness due to detachment from its fruits. It is the key to live a fully-satisfied life by performing one’s Karma. The doer of Karma with detachment from its fruits is known as Karma-Yogi, which Lord Krishna explained to Arjuna.
If you do something you will get something in return. Newton’s 3rd law of motion “To every action there is equal and opposite reaction” also supports the inevitable results of Karma.
That’s why you don’t have to waste your time and energy by thinking about the outcomes all the time.  Expectation brings stress in your head and loss in your efficiency at work. So, if you don’t expect your result and do your work, it will give you more than you have expected, you are free from unnecessary burden of expectations. if you get less you will be happy with that as you didn’t have any expectation but just passion for work. Lord Krishna has said that he is in everything and everywhere, inside us, around us, around our periphery etc.  as a vibration. Once you realize that you are made up of same element that God and entire universe is made of, you will be limitless and definitely you are limitless. So, don’t hesitate to develop yourself where you truly want to develop.
If you do not work efficiently, your will not be able to accomplish the work allotted to you for this life and therefore you will have to take other births to get rid from the cycle of life. Therefore, for attaining Moksha, the righteous and efficient working is necessary which is in fact the development and coordination of our body, brain and soul.
